Static Patrol Services

The 4 P's are the cornerstone of a security guards role.

Patrolling allows a security guard to fulfill these objectives

1. PROTECTION OF LIFE -
   from dangerous / hazardous situations, assault, or emergency situations
   
2. PROTECTION OF PROPERTY AND PREMISES -
   Protecting property from theft, fire, criminal damage, or defacement.
   
3. PREVENTION OF LOSS AND WASTE -
   Loss by theft, breach of confidentiality, or abuse of clients property, such as unauthorised use of computers, telephones or other equipment.
   
4. PREVENTING AND DETERRING CRIME -
   Theft, breach of peace, criminal damge, public order offences.

In order to fulfill the objectives of the 4P's the following methods can be employed.

Patrolling (internal or external patrols, or both), access control, preventing fire by reporting fire hazards, monitoring of services, compliance with agreed assigmnet instructions.

During patrols all clocking points will be visited.

The Security Officer will use all six senses:

1. sight
2. hearing
3. touch
4. smell
5. taste
   and of course
6. COMMON sense
